I LOVE PICKLES! Jewish and Bread & Butter pickles!(y) Walking home from school, we would pass a little butcher shop that always had a big wooden barrel full of Jewish pickles for 5 cents each, my buddy and I would buy one, cut it in half and eat it before we got home. It's a wonder we never got sick, but we didn't! :thumbsup2:

Aunt Bea's pickles!
Kosher Dills are the only ones for me.
Nice crunch and perfect flavor.
My favorite restaurant used to serve them with my BLTs and Burgers.
Someone switched suppliers and now they are junk.
Now I don't even want them, at least everything else there is tops.

Best place to buy kosher sour dills is the lower east side of Manhattan in the wooden barrels.... yum!

My introduction to Kosher Dills was back in the 1950's, out of the barrel in Brooklyn, Jewish deli.

My reference was to an episode of the Andy Griffith show where aunt B makes pickles to enter into the county fair contest. Apparently her pickles tasted like they were marinated in kerosene.

Remember when Granny on Beverly Hillbillies tried to sell her recipe for piccalilli to a big company?

My grandmother made better dill pickles than anyone, even the jewish deli, I believe.
