TR2/3/3A Pic of TR3 [?] and Solstice?

A couple of months ago somebody posted a pic of two cars sort of nose-to-nose. One was an old Triumph, I'm not sure but I think it was a TR3. The other was a Solstice or maybe a Sky. I was amazed at how huge the latter looked compared to the former and I wanted to show the picture to somebody but I've never been able to find it in the archives. Does this ring a bell with anybody???

Steve,
Maybe it was in THIS thread that talked about the possibility of BMW resurrecting the Triumph name. There is a link to a picture of what the new Triumph might possibly could maybe sort-of kinda look like (much like a solstice) and compared it to an original TR4.

If I did this right, I think I may have added the photo you were looking for...

aah...that looks more like what he was looking for! That Sky looks like a monster next to the TR3!

Those cars are in CT.

The TR3 looks like a kiddie car next to the Sky. I never knew the Sky was that big, or maybe that the TR3 was that small!

I guess I'm to blame for the size comparison. What I was trying to say is that the Sky feels huge compared to the TR-3 while driving it. The 3 will always be my first choice to drive of the two...weather permitting.

Sky
weight - 2,975 lbs.
length - 161.1 inches
width - 71.4 inches
height = 50.1 inches
ground clearance 5.5 inches
wheelbase - 95.1
hp - 177bhp @ 6600rpm

TR-3
Weight - 955Kg - 2,105.41 lbs probably 2000 lbs. after rust.
length - 151 inches
width - 55.5 inches
height - 46 inches
ground clearance - 6 inches
wheelbase - 88 inches
hp - 90bhp @ 4800rpm

Nope, not my car, not my house, not my photo...I just had it available to post. I found it interesting the first time around. I think it may be Harry's cars.

I got passed this morning in my Spitfire on my way to work by a Solstice, and I was impressed by how large the Solstice is. I looked _up_ at the Solstice's window to see the head of he driver was visible only from the jaw line up. The Solstice's tires were taller than the tops of my front fenders.

It is fun to read in the specs above that the Sky is more than 1000 lbs. heavier than my Spitfire. When I was a kid in the Seventies the Corvette had that sort of weight and horsepower, and comparatively about the same price as the Solstice too.

That's the one -- thanks!!! I've always bought my cars based mostly on styling, and the Solstice/Sky really appeal to me. But I hadn't realized just how big they are until I saw that picture awhile back. Then of course when I wanted to show it to my wife I couldn't find it. Isn't that always the way?
