Here's one...there's more on my web site (& I'll get an engine compartment photo posted tomorrow)

Now, if anybody has access to MGC 15" wires, lemme know so I can get rid of those MGA wires! Interesting story behind how they got there.

I like it! It has a LOT of potential and looks solid from 12" (that's about what I am from my seat to the computer screen.) Do you have the chrome strip for the bonnet?

Well you tanalize us with a comment about a story and and and..........

1969 was the BEST year for the MG-B and MG-C. 1970 brought about ugly changes to bumpers, grille, and tail-lights, making them look like "econo-boxes". For a classic MG, you have to go back to 1969 because it collected the best features from prior years and added a few. I still have the original 1969 steering wheel, owner's manual, warranty manual, dealer brochure, and the credit-card sized steel plate sent by the factory to the original owner with the car's serial number, owner's name, etc. Mine was a B, I no longer have it but it is still in use by some lucky owner.

Yes, I have the chrome for the hood

...guy said around 1982 or so, he went to pick it up from a garage where he'd had some electrical work done...they were going out of business so he went to get his car...it was late in afternoon, kinda dark & he hopped in it & went home...didn't check it for some time & when he did, he found somebody had exchanged his MGC wheels/tires for these old MGA wheels/tires....when he went back to the shop, they'd moved....

Regarding the MGC Frappr....you can post aditional pictures...you can only attach a second balloon by joining with a different e-mail address (sorry..their rules, not mine). You CAN edit your original balloon, though.

how can I edit my original balloon to add the GT?

Let me go into the Administrative side of Frapper and C what I can come up with! "I'll be back."

I'll disagree somewhat and say the best year for MGB was 1967. Best engine, no smog, lighter weight and that beautiful steel dash. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Total agreement, Steve. It was the pinnacle of B production. I've owned three '67's, this current '64 is a '67 in all respects but the door handles and the wiper switch/headlamp switch now... I kinda like the three toggles in a row /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

big toggle switches add a bit of character to cars that the rocker switches took away in the name of modernization... that's definitely one thing that I'd keep in an 'old' B if I were to ever get one... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I still prefer the early pull handle cars but the '67 has the advantage of the stronger and less fussy door mechanisms.

aye, pull handles are indeed more sexy than the push buttons...

I'm grafting a '67 dash into the '70 GT I'm building for Jerri

ya know, that's interesting. I've toyed with the idea (but haven't given it any serious thought) of putting the newest ('78 to '80) dash and center console into my '76. The main reason for thinking about doing this is the heater control knobs look like they're easier to manipulate on the newer style dash/console. The heater temp. knob is difficult for me to turn with my left hand, and reaching through the steering wheel to do it with my right hand isn't really an option while I'm driving. So, it's either "upgrade" the dash, or figure out why the heater temp knob is so hard to turn.

lube the cables. And the newer knobs are just as hard to turn /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

bah... take all the fun out of it for me would ya!

what should I use? white lithium? a quart of 40wt (so it can drip on my legs while I drive)? 3-in-1? axle grease? WD? some other aerosol lube?

Lithium bearing grease or moly-lube work well and don't drip. Down-side is ya gotta disassemble the controls and do it cable out/apart if ya want it "right".

Heater knobs were different with different years, small nuances - do you have the correct ones for your car?

AFAIK, the knobs in me car are original. Temp knob is on the left side of the steering column, just to the right of the lights rocker switch. The Heater/defroster knob is to the right of the steering column, under the fuel guage.
