TR2/3/3A Petrol Stop TR-3 A Post 60000 Models

Based on the TRA Judging "Standards & Restoration Guidelines"
"The petrol stop (shutoff valve), located between the fuel pump and firewall, was removed during TR3 prodction ........ cars after TS 60000 did not have a petrol stop. This is all well and good and I understand it all. However, was the tank to pump line mated with a rubber hose at the pump? Or does anyone care when in concours judging? Or was a pipe connection at the pump? I have pictures of very well restored TR3-A's with the rubber connection. Looks to me that it would be way easier to do it that way.

Your thoughts please.

I believe it was always a flexible line, to allow for engine motion on it's mounts. Earlier cars used a made-up flexible line with fittings, but I believe all later cars had a simple rubber line. No clamps orginally, but definitely recommended (and allowed by TRA, etc. as a safety item). With the tap, there was a short length of plain hard line protruding from the outlet and the rubber line pushed over that. Without the tap, I believe the rubber line just pushed over the end of the line from the tank.

Same deal at the fuel pump, I believe, short section of hard line (curved towards the tap) and rubber line pushed over it.
