Petroflex hose

Anyone found a source for the original style braided flexible hose and/or hose clips used on the Mk2 onwards cars? I see a lot of stainless steel braided hose being sold as original but it looks very different. The hose clips being sold are also nothing like the originals either. Ebay has a few original Petroflex hoses but I'm not game to try 40 year old rubber with modern fuel.

This is a pretty good representation of what I'm after on a Mini parts website although I need a 20" length. The vendor said the hose clamps they supply are now nothing like the image and I don't think their hose is either.

These are the commonly available clips that I'm not looking for.

Any suggestions?

Andy.

Andy, as far as the hose, I think it looks alot like what I bought at Healey Surgeons in Tacoma Park, Maryland, USA. But I think it came with out the clamps. I don't have the car nearby right now to check. Dave.

Thanks guys. I think the line in your pic is of the stainless braided variety. The original is zinc plated steel and goes a dull grey over time whereas the stainless stays that shiny... stainless colour.

I'm being a bit fussy (more than usual!) because this is an original one lady owner car that I'd like to keep looking original and the fuel lines are one of the most visible things in the engine bay- particularly when they don't match. The hose from the body to the first carb is still the original type and I'd like to leave it untouched and have the other two fade eventually to match.

Cheers,
Andy.

Your right Andy its Stainless . I am not a "purist" by any means . I like shiny

Andy,

Try checking with Burlen / S.U. in the U.K. They have a bunch of cool stuff.
