i just got a new pertronix flame thrower dist for my neg ground bj8 has anyone done this conversion ,which way does the vacume advance face
 
Same way as the original. Angled towards the back of the engine
 
My car is negative ground and I've installed a nav/mp3 player which gets it's power from the car.
Is it ok to have the key on, car not running, so as to power the unit. Sometimes I'll set up the nav or listen to music without the car running.
Not concerned with draining the battery, more concerned about the Petronix unit. Will it do it any harm to the Petronix?
