Hey all,
I am planning on adding a Pertronix electronic ignition
module to my 58 BN6 in the future. Right now I am changing
out my coil. Is there any issue with adding the Pertronix
3 ohm /40,000 volt coil now to my standard points/condenser
ignition system ? Or should I just put in a new standard
Lucas coil, not a sports coil ?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, because Moss has the module on sale I would make the complete change now.

Or:

I would get the Pertronix Module and hold it until I obtained the Lucas sport coil.

This latter position considers the potential extra wear on the existing [not too good after market replacement] points and condensers when subjected to the higher switching currents produced by the Sport coil.----Fwiw--Keoke

Thanks Keoke ! I went ahead and got the Pertronix module using Moss's 20%
off sale last week and will install it and the sport coil this weekend !
Regards,
Mike
