Pertronics Revisited

I think it has been about two months or more since my coil arced through the wire insulation, shorting out my Pertronics unit.
I found a good distributor on the shelf and hooked up points etc. and have been running it since.
I finally got my new Pertonics this week. Backorders and and inability to get to TRF to pick it up delayed the process. I hooked the Pertronics up to the original distributor and the spare setup will be travelling with me. It will be a very easy swap should there ever be a problem.

I ran mine for a year with no problems until the upper bearing went in the dizzy. Totally my fault for not getting it replaced when I had the chance. I also carried the spare point plate all set and ready to drop in.

I now have the dizzy ready to go back in, but I'm too busy with other projects. I'm also very happy with the way that my spare modified unit works, so I guess that I'm just lazy.

I may reinstall it on Dyno Day next week if I can have the time to swap it out while hooked to the Dyno. Then I can set everything up under load and tweak in the total advance setting.
