Personalized plates...!?? Help...

Dear Forum!

I'm in the process of ordering a personalized registration plate for my 1967 Austin Healey (Healey blue) BJ8, but I'm stuck...I need some new ideas, since HEALEY for instance, was taken (so much for my inspiration...). Feel free to suggest what it's going to be - I'll take a picture of the car with the plates, once it's settled! I need your help...

Rules: 7 characters/digits maximum, space counts as 1 letter, allowed to mix digits and letters and a small chance of ordering a plate with 6 characters (3 by 3), also called a "USA plate". A plate, similar to an ordinary one i.e. SMO 744 or XJB 871 isn't allowed either!

For instance these are OK (this is where I get stuck....):

AHEALEY

3000MK3

BJ8
6 7

Please - feel free to suggest and help me out with this one...

AH 3000 would be good.

If you want to be a bit more 'upfront' then you could go for SMOKING or OLDSKOOL :yesnod:

In the UK we are more restricted on the public highway but when I go to tracks or shows then the car wears either it's original California registration

This picture shows the vanity plates my wife Mary and I have on our Healeys. I think you can figure out the derivations along with who is whom.

In the Great State of Ohio (no, I'm not a politician, though that's how they always address the State they're talking about...) I abandoned the idea of a personalized Historic plate when I learned that you have to renew them annually. The generic personalized plated are renewed at fifty (!!50!!) year intervals.

It was the nice lady at the DMV that said I could get a Y.O.M. on Ebay and register it to my car.

Hey Chris,
How about "MY BJ8" , had that once in Missouri. Or simply your car number such
as BJ8 xxx - of course with the large number of BJ8's made kinda hard to get
similar to what I have for my BN6 - "BN6 964".

Now we're cooking! I can already see that you have a tradition that by far is superior to Europe and Sweden especially. We have had the personalized plates for about 10 years now, but still - not that popular. On the other hand - better for me because more to choose from.

Michael - I guess the red one is yours! I can tell by the way you lean towards it :wink:

So - since there are still suggestions dropping in, I'll just enjoy your cleverness and humor and let this topic hang for a week or two before deciding.

I can't remember who but someone I know has for his vanity plate "NOTANMG". I think that to be demeaning to Healeys--what knowledgeable person would ever mistake a Healey for an MG?
 
Rather than focusing on something Healey specific, have you thought of something a little more "generic" that is still personal to you, but can at least be kept and moved on to other cars if you (heaven forbid!) decided to exchange your Healey?

For inspiration you could take a look at Cool Reg Plates which have some really funny plates, or look in the cherished plate section of ebay.
 
:driving: Not sure if it's allowed in Sweden but I have an original 1967 Missouri license plate that can be used here in the US as a Historic plate.
 
I don't have the Big Brothers on the road yet, but this is what my Dear creative wife came up with for the lil'sister.

In case I did not attach the image correctly, the plate reads

"BACK N 62"

Thinking outside the Healey box a little. Are you a Seinfeld fan? My parents neighbor has this on his Aston Martin NVWSSV. Not sure? Flip it over and it's the plate Kramer got in the show. The state of WI wouldn't allow it upright as they check their requests for naughty stuff.
