Brilliant!! I'd probably roll with a couple of ramps. The mind is a terrible thing.

Sorry I don't have the model and am not in MD to take a photo but I have a Harbor Freight floor jack that is very low and has a long enough reach to easily go under my 100. It is fit with a U-shaped jack saddle specifically made for Healeys that goes under the athwartship frame members both front and back. Perfect combination!

athwartship - I had to look that one up.
Yeah, that comes from my having pIayed with boats for most of my life and I just couldn't come up with a better descriptive word.
I guess I could have said "The frame members that go between the two longitudinal frame rails"....

I already have two trolley jacks. Can anyone advise as to the source and part number to order the hole to install in my garage floor? Thanks......

Would like to know more about the U-shaped jack saddle specifically made for Healey. Is that something you made?

It is a bit of overkill from a capacity standpoint, but this 3-1/2 ton jack fits fine under our car.

I have a 20-inch long piece of 2-1/2" x 5/8" flat bar I put on the jack plate and that fits under the front cross member and transfers the load to the frame rails as opposed to the cross member.

Regards,

Paul

I'm going to guess that it was made by Lynn Cline (Classic Collectables Co). Lynn's no longer with us. Here's a couple of photos of mine.

Bob--

Yes, I got it from Lynn some years back and only wish I had bought it earlier when I did not know how easily the crossmembers can be deformed.

I have a friend who said a few years back he would fabricate and sell one for about $75.00.

I expect that most of us landlubbers did ;)

The best low-profile jack that I have seen/used/owned is certainly NOT one of the least expensive to purchase, but in hindsight, it has been in service for right around twenty (20+) years. Like everything else over the past two (2) decades, the price has nearly doubled, but but the quality/value has proven itself__at least to me.

In use; one of the few floor jacks that you need to be aware of bumper clearance at THE OPPOSITE END of the vehicle you are lifting!
