I hope they remember to take the bands off their claws. It probably won't occur to them but if they cut a notch in each tail, the lobsters are probably save for life since it's illegal to keep a notched lobster.

When they're pulled from the trap, part of their shell is measured and only those within a certain size window are kept. Egg-bearing females also get tossed back after having a notch cut in their tails as an indication in case they're caught again.
