Pedals Too Close!

Being 6'4" driving my BJ8 is more like wearing the car than sitting in it. In another thread, there were many posts dealing with pedal extentions...I need to move mine in the opposite direction. Has anyone found a method to move the pedals closer to the firewall without interfering with their actions? I thought about reshaping the pedals or perhaps moving the pivot point to try to gain an inch or two. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

J Have you considered moving the seat rails back a bolt hole?

I actually like being right atop the pedals ad have my seat pretty far forward. I am 5'11"
