TR6 pedals on a TR6

I replaced the clutch slave cylinder and rebuilt the master cylinder recently. The rod for the slave cylinder was in the top hole when I started and I put in the center as per Bently. The rod for the master was in the center hole and I put it back there.

The clutch pedal is a lot higher than the brake pedal and the clutch engages very near the top. The clutch is not slipping as far as I can tell.

The brake pedal rests much lower. I also replaced the wheel cylinders. The brakes are working fine.

I have bled both systems.

Is this normal for the TR6? As a fairly new owner I might ought to ask if there is anything normal about the 6?

thanks, Pete /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/patriot.gif

My two pedal shafts on 71 tr6 has two holes each and each rod is connected to the lower hole, if they were connected to the upper holes the rods would be angled almost like in a bind, so the lower holes have to be the right ones. My clutch pedal is up about 3/4" of an inch more than the brake--about normal. make sure your return springs are ok and not missing. You might try your slave cylinder rod in the lower hole and you might need to bleed your clutch master and slave. When pushing your clutch pedal You should have about 3/4" of free play before you start to feel presure. Even if your clutch is not slipping you may be ready for a new one, make sure everything else is right first.
