I wonder if those cars ever drive farther than on & off the viewing stage?

About two dozen cars that show at Pebble start here in Kirkland and tour for over a week down to the show. My father organizes the "send-off" party each year at Suite 200 auto club.
I didn't attend the party this year, but last year a couple Duesenbergs, a Chrysler Ghia, a couple Lincolns, a Hispano-Suiza, an Austin Nippy, and the winner of the first Le Mans (a '23 Bentley) all were on the tour.
There's a big move away from the choking, sputtering non-running concours cars. These cars deserve to be driven, and I've always had mucho respect for guys like Jay Leno (and less wealthy collectors like my buddy Dennis Karras who owns a GT350 and GT500) who restore to 100 points then drive 'em!
