PCV installation results

Mark, could your issue be related to the valve cover air volume and not the size of the opening going into the manifold. The MG article in the link indicates the air in through the top has a significant effect. Jim

Good question. Hmmm. I did go with a newer alloy cover that was given to me (so I no longer have the standard one with the pipe coming out of it), and I'll need to check if the filler cap has any breathing going on. I have noticed that I can blow a little PCV-related smoke in the first few minutes, but this one time I mentioned (with the engine warm) I thought I was on fire or had blown a head-gasket... but it subsided to blue and then gone. When I removed the pancake PCV, there was a lot of oil there, so I surely sucked out into the manifold (which will produce a LOT of smoke). So, thanks Jim, I'll see if better rocker-area ventilation will cure it. Otherwise, I think I need to dial that suction down just a bit (with a narrowed inlet like BillM or Gerard recommended).
Good article. Thanks.
