the man's got a very talented voice.

Though, I think he could use a little more work on his stage presence, but I guess that'll come to him over time.

I told someone to watch his youtube video. They were brought up in a classicly trained home. They were blown away. Said he wasn't even trying hard.
 
A related story but...well, maybe in reverse: the Dirty Jobs guy (Mike Rowe) on Discovery was a baritone with the Baltimore Opera before he got into TV.
 
Even Simon liked him. It was great to see an audiance give a standing for opera. Fabulous!!!
 
heh... I got to talking about this guy with one of my people and he seems to think it's a sham of sorts, mainly because of Paul Potts' name. Seems, the guy I was talking to thinks the name "Paul Potts" is too similar to another name from history... Pol Pot...

What's the suspected motivation? Potts plans to take over the west, enslave us all and make us grow inferior rice?!?
 
From the posts I've seen on a fan web site, seems he already has taken over the west. I hope Simon markets him better than he has Bianca Ryan (winner of America's Got Talent), who he booked on such well-watched shows as "Ellen Degenerous" and TBN, but then went to tour Europe! He should have gotten her booked on the Tonight Show right off the bat!

I've nothing against Ellen, live and let live. My only point was (is) that her show is not exactly in the top ratings tier and I felt that those managing Bianca Ryan should have gotten her exposure on some shows with more than a dozen regular viewers. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

Beats me, just my guy doesn't like the similarities in the names... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif My guy (my 'direct report') isn't even from that region of the world, though he is a bit of a history buff.
 
I'm sorry, I just don't believe you could fake a thing like that. If for some reason it was faked, I would be VERY disapointed. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif How many people get to live their dream? I'm too old and too broke to live mine so I'll just live vicariously thru Paul. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
