Here is a pattern I cut out of paper to carpet the area in front of the gear shift knob (not sure what to call it). The dimensions were pretty much on except I needed another half inch on the very right side although the pattern is symmetrical when folded in half. A very little bit of trimming will be required with an exacto knife once in place. The black carpet piece cost me a bout $6.00 dollars at Lowes Hardware. Hopefully this may save somebody some time and money.

Looks very good.

Mike,
Is there a specific name for that carpet at Lowes? I am just starting to do the same upgrade so your topic is very timely. I'll go buy some next week.

Charlie:

I believe it was priced at 78 cents a linear foot. Was on a six foot roll. Tight woven and look like it was made for marine and automotive use. Hope this helps.

It looks like it matches the rest of the car pretty well.

Have not seen that area carpeted before. Looks like it is right though.

Went to Lowes today and they are out of the carpet and will not have any until spring. I was told it is a seasonal stocking item. If anyone knows of any other supplier, please let me know.
Thanks,
Charlie

I picked up a roll of black, automobile carpet at PEP boys. I used it to cover a speaker box that sat behind the seats of my midget.(I couldn't bring myself to cut holes) It was less than $20 for the roll, but I don't recall the size. I have also seen carpet at Auto Zone and O'reilly's .
Is there a remnant warehouse in your area? Considerring you don't need much....you might try there too.
