Patrick McGoohan passes...

A sad day, indeed. The Prisoner was ahead of its time. I especially liked the part where this big white ball would kind of round him up, every time he'd try to escape. Cool!

Filmed in my neck of the woods. Great show. Sad indeed.

Supposedly they are doing a remake of the Prisoner on AMC; I hope they don't balls it up by making it wacky and predictable.

I saw that the other night. Another case of "we have no material, let's remake something".

Normally I'd agree with you. But when you think of Battlestar Galactica, there is some hope that a remake will be as good as, if not better than the original.

Ricardo Montablan passed away today as well...88
Just what is fine Corinthian Leather anyway?

A great artist, two Emmy Awards and a lifetime of achievement on the stage and screen.

RIP, Patrick.

When I was very young, I loved to watch McGoohan in a program that I thought was called Secret Agent. Made me want to wear a black turtleneck with a tweed jacket when I grew up.

But there is no mention of this program in the article; only Danger Man. Was this an alternative title for the same program?

A very sad day, seeing the Lotus 7 in the opening scenes of the Prisoner is probaly the most influential reason that got me interested in Brit. Sports cars.

"I am not a number! I am a free man!" - Number 6

"Danger Man" was the original title of the program in England. The series was renamed "Secret Agent" when it was released in the US.

Let's all pray god that it's not like The Avengers remake...

Secret Agent and the Prisoner were both shows that I watched religiously back in the day when there was very little on of that caliber! He will be missed!

PS Corinthian Leather was simply a PR creation, had a nice ring to it, especially with Ricardo letting it roll off his Latin tongue! ...not much of a leather industry in Corinth...unless perhaps some sheepskin industry...Bovines are rare in Greece!!
