Apart fro the health problems with using lead it takes a great deal more skill to use. That is probable also a reason most body went to body filler.

Yeah, it does take a bit more skill, but it's easy enough to learn. I got to the point where I could put the lead on vertical surfaces without it all dripping on the floor. You'll also need some tinning butter, a wooden paddle and some sheep tallow for lubrication...hmmm, nice smelling stuff. :sour:
 
Right on Art, I am impressed you use lead I had forgotten because you got your car done a while back. Back in the day they would send us out in the winter to solder up vertical drain boxes/Scuppers in the rain with 50/50 we made all kinds of dams and covers because in rains a lot here. I am looking forward to using this stuff you are taking about inside on something I enjoy.
 
See, leading is one skill I have never tried, but always wanted to learn. I was watching one of those Discovery "supercar build" shows, and it seems Bently and Rolls still use lead to blend the roof to the quarters to this day. I've always thought plastic filler is cheating. You guys are making me want another project to learn on!?!
