Help! Just bought a parts washer, a cheap and nasty one from Harbour Fright. What does everyone recommend for solvent/fluid?

Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Wonder if some of those "safer" cleaners would work well enough like Purple Blaster or similar? Your unit has a pump and brush or some sort?

I see you are in WI, if any fuel stations sell B100 near you it works as a great parts washer and smells better than diesel. Just check your pump seals.

I've been using the purple Castrol stuff or buying Simple Green in large jugs. I mix it about 3 to 1 with water and it works pretty well. I used to destroy or gum up the cheap pumps regularly but have had no problems with the above mixes.

I keep it warm with an aquarium heater which is probably not recommended but hasn't caused a problem yet.
