Parts questions.

Assuming you haven't moved since I sent you my fuel gauge, I've got it still.

Side entry cap is required for cars with the steering wheel on the wrong side. I have a top entry cap on mine.

I went and looked, side wire cap is necessary on Bugeye to clear the gusset on the passanger foot box. Big honking hose and tac drive are not a prob.

Kim, I'll pop those filters in the mail to you tomorrow.

Noop, on a Bugeye, and I just looked again. Will take a pic later.

Put my brand new, just like the orginal, big honking vent hose on today. Ed at Just Brits carries them and the heater to flapper hose and the dash vent hoses, all as per orginal equipment. He has em in stock, they come from an English factory.

Yep it clears the side wire dizzy and such. Kinda looks good in there but then I like new clean parts.

Like original? The sort of paper material, not plastic like the VB part?

Aye black paper inside and out with an alum sandwitch in the middle and all coragated properly.

Below you can see it in the pic. also the yellow solid core accel # 3009 wires and why a Bugeye must have a side mount plug wire arrangement.

Dogonnit. Bought mine too soon. That one looks great. I have the Just Brits webpage open. Do they have a catalog of some sort?

He has a car repair and parts house very little of which is Moss suppliers. Has several big Healeys of his own.

Posts here from time to time.

I know there is no reason to have a top entry cap, but I assure you that it does work on a LHD car. That is what is currently in the Ugly Bug.

MGBs used the top entry.

ALL BMC A and B series engines (and most other Lucas dizzy equipped cars/trucks) used the side entry caps, including the B, until after Leyland got involved. The side entry cap was "expensive" so it went away in favor of the push-in top entry type. One of many cost cutting ideas. They should have tried coming to grips with Labour instead... :madder:

1275, 45d dist, top entry cap, 1961 BugEye. Fits fine

'59 BE with a Mallory dizzy has Noooo problem fitting a top-mount, but then mine doesn't seem to have that gusset where the footwell meets the inner wing (fender)! ('scuse the mess! :eeek: )
