TR2/3/3A parts lot for TR2-4

Bottom line is anything can be restored. All it takes is time, money, and in some cases, another complete car and swap over the ID plates.
Hopefully somebody with all of the above can do something with them.

I wonder what Rick Dale on the TV restoration show would charge to do that?

"Let's see......1,000 man hours of tear down.....walnut shell blast everything.....welding.....get my body guy in to make it purrr-fect.....oh, I can do that, show quality, for....umm...a hundred and seventy five thousand."

Been there, done that. My original $500 TR4A was beyond help body-wise and the final nail was when I found that the rear frame was rusted and the rear started to sag. So much was missing from part of the frame in fact that the rear body had become a "structural" member on the driver side!

I was lucky enough to find a solid inner body shell with frame, trunk lid, front suspension, rear diff, axles and suspension for $175 (boy things were cheaper in those days!)and front and rear fenders from another source for $200. I ended up only using the hood and doors from the old car's body. Everything else though was rebuilt, restored and moved from the old shell to the new shell.

Its a little frustrating with this seller - tried to contact him via both ebay and craigslist and no-go. Not for me, but a friend is working on an early TR2 - it could be a great fit potentially.

This may have sold according to the one bid on ebay. If anyone hears about the new owner I'd really like to get the contact info - would like to know the planned outcome of the TR2 bits.

Edit: actually while I'm asking about it, if anyone has a lead on an early style thermostat housing for these cars please give me a holler. Thanks.

Yes, interesting - I'm just interested to know where the stuff wound up. The ebay sale had one bid, but if there is a legal issue there I suspect ebay will step in as well.

I talked to the guy who filed the TR lost claim and he is going to do some more followup.
