Parts car questions

I have spotted a potential MGB parts car and need some guidance. This vine covered orphan was manufactured 11/77. It has a dual SU4 carb set up and an o/d trans. The body is pretty rust free but the Rt side front quarter panel and door have some damage. The top, interior, etc. is not worthy of mention. The electrics are hanging out from under the dash....with the exception of the section that is laying on top of the spare tire under the boot. I'm sure that is a candidate for restoration but not by me!

I was able to turn the engine by hand to make sure it's not seized.

If one is to consider this vehicle as an organ donor for other rolling Bs, what is a reasonable offer?

Well the OD transmission would be worth at a min $800 if working, could be worth as much as $1200. Does the current owner know this? The SU's might be worth some cash as well as the exhaust manifold and head if neither are cracked. Go look on e-bay and see what used prices are going for and get a number in your mind as to their relative value.

On the other hand, it takes alot of work, time and space to dissassemble a car which I have little of. Those things cost in other ways too and should reflect in your offer.

Offer the guy $200-$500 bucks!

If it's not really rusted, maybe it could be brought back. Does it have a title?

take cash, a trailer, and offer 300-350 bucks. you'll buy it

were it me, I'd start at $250 but not go over $350...an old OD in a vine covered car is just an old tranny even though you might get lucky...if you don't want it, lemm give it a go!
