Hello all,

I've got a 1976 Spit 1500

Noticed the clutch getting loose, but it didn't seem to be the usual wear. Come to find out the hole at the top of the clutch pedal arm where the clevis pin goes is worn nearly through. None of the usual suppliers seems to have pedals any longer. Anyone got a spare? I believe the brake pedal is identical.

I had a similar problem on an Alfa my ex used to have. I took it to my machinist friend who drilled out the oblonged hole and installed a spacer (bushing). The clevis also showed significant wear, so it was drilled and a new pin was turned to match the new IDs.

If you do some searching you can find where TR3 guys have made the same kinds of mods to their pedals, since this is a common point to wear and new pedals are hard to come by.

I don't know about spits, but the bends/angles are different on the brake and clutch on the TR3 -but until you take them apart, they look the same.
 
if you have a welder or know of someone that does, weld the hole up and redrill it, the weld material will be harder too and last another 40 years, just take measurements or make a pattern so you know where to drill the hole
