Park Brake

During this season the 76 midget does not come out of the garage much. The last time I parked it I set the park brake. Now the brakes are locked up. I do not know much about the system but I assume the shoes are stuck to the drums? Or could the cable not be releasing the shoes? Thanks for any replies in advance.

Well, are you able to release the handle all the way down? If so, pull forward and it should break loose. If that doesn't work rev her up and drop the clutch. Now, there will those that disagree with me and talk about danger and irresponsibility and all that stuff..... At least it will be fun!

P.S. It should work.

If you are unable to release the handle. Start disconnecting the cable and what ever it takes to release the shoes and re-grease everything.

By the way, the shoes are probably not stuck to the drums. It is in the linkages. I would still try to drive a few feet to free things up unless you plan on rebuilding the issue.
