When doing some of the final touches on the restoration of my Triumph TR250 I got a couple scuffs on the new interior vinyl, I tried vinyl cleaner, mequire's plastic cleaner and plastic polish with little success. Then a bing bing went off in my head and I got the black shoe polish out from the shoe polish kit. Can't even see the door panel scuffs anymore, don't think the repair will be permanent, but it has lasted a few months now, and it is easy enough to touch up.
I also had some spots on the windshield vinyl I didn't replace that had abrasions and things showing the white understructure of the vinyl. Took my black leather dye from the shoebox kit, and once again, worked like magic, you can still see where it is abraided of course, but it is much less noticeable when it is all one color.
Hope this may be of use to others.
