You guys probably already know about this, but I just "discovered" Pandora internet radio.

https://www.pandora.com

It's free (basic service). Type in any popular music title, artist, band, etc. and the system find free recordings on the web. There are links to online music retailers (Amazon, etc.) but you only see the links if you choose to.

You build your own online "radio station" which plays music by artists/bands etc. you request.

As I'm one of the ancients, I set up my own station by typing in Peggy Lee, Marlene Dietrich, Edith Piaf, Rosemary Clooney, Bix Beiderbecke, Louis Armstrong, etc.

Now that music play in the background regardless of what I'm doing online.

There are extra bells and whistles you can pay for, but as I'm a frugal zealot, I'm enjoying the free service. Right now I'm enjoying "March of the Bob Cats" by the Bob Crosby Band. Oops, just switched to Fats Waller and "The Minor Drag".
