I'm changing the over to the Toyota transmission (Smitty) and aluminum head and was wondering about painting them the Healey color. Has anyone else done this? If so do you have pics?

John

Paint stripped to bare aluminum on Healey Transmissions all the time, then paint with Moss Green Healey paint .Don.t see any problem painting your hardware either.

Here's mine. Engine/Trans paint color is from MOSS.

Fine paint job on the tranny. I may do mine, as I have the nice Hirsch paint and the BN7's transmission and overdrive are stashed unused on a shelf in the garage. Very convenient for painting. Unfortunately, I didn't have the correct paint when I last exposed my working gear box, a "Smitty" Toyota five speed. While I think the Toyota is really very nice, I haven't driven a Healey with the original gear box for comparison since I sold the BT7 I bought after coming out of college back in Ohio circa 1963.
