So, I've decided to paint my BE this winter.

The paint on most of the car is in pretty good shape - could use some touching up. But the bonnet needs to be re-painted.

I did the whole body 20 years ago so I know I can do it, but have forgotten the "how-to" part.

I've started looking on the web and I'm sure I'll buy some books, but if anyone knows of any good websites, good books, or some pointers they'd like to pass along, it would be greatly appreciated.

Materials have changed a LOT! Epoxy primer is "da berries." Just have GOOD ventilation and breathing apparatus. Find the local "hot-rod" guys and pick their brains, along with a body-shop supplier in your area. Most of the independent places I've found to be quite helpful. "Wooster" oughtta have one near-by.
May need to go to Conshohocken or Philly to get with a rodder club.
 
I painted mine not too long ago. Eastwoodco.com has a good blurb about it on thier website if you search threw thier parts for how to. you can read it on their page. Also decided what type your using and search that. I used a urethane which when I searched led me to endless Chevelle forums that I was able to filter some good info from.

color - definitely an original BE color instead of the non-standard blue I have now. Currently thinking OEW, but not sure yet. Not sure if I "have" to stay true to the paint color/upholstery color options or not. I have a black interior with white piping that will NOT be replaced. According to Horler, the only outside option I have is OEW. But I may pick another color anyways.

Paint type - the current paint is lacquer. I'm thinking of going with polyurethane this time. But still have research to do on that.
