Painting hood frame

Hi,
what kind of paint would you use to paint the hood frame and would you completely strip all the existing paint first?

Which type frame? Scissors? Michelotti? Packaway?

Strip all the old paint first, that how I did my TC top frame....he hardest part was getting it completly back to bare metal...Then prime and paint, I think I used Krylon because they were the closest match to the original beige of the TC frame.

They now have some things that look like 3M scrub pads that have been diped in cement for your elec drill. They take the old paint right off down to bare metal, rust as well. Find em at Ace Hardware for example.

Then prime and paint with enamel rattle can paint.

Bloody heck!

I painted the hood frame (badly!) and proceeded to re-fit it and the hood but for some reason it's all got too tight. It was a real struggle to close the hood catches and the frame doesn't seem to fold up (closing the hood) properly. I can't understand what's wrong!

loosen the 3 mounting screw on each side, and then close it and retighten the screws.

Or did you get paint in all the joints and that's what is binding? There is also a lot of adjustment in the hood catches.
