Great Pumpkin - R.I.P

I've found a new guy not far from me. He just finished redoing the clear coat on my 380SL - 6 coats! Beautiful job....he did it at 4am because of temperature and dust (he has a pretty nice paint booth)...gonna take it back in 2 weeks and he'll sand it with 3000 & buff....

Monday, he gets Jack Laird's Bugeye to prime & whatever else Jack wants...

In 3 weeks he gets Jerri's VW Bug to restore....all he wants to work on is older cars & I've got plenty for him to do.

Shucks, I live to far away.

Jack BE, great get him back in action.

I just went over my 380SL real closely - eyes down 5" or 6" from car - not one speck of dust or anything in the new clear coat, no runs, no blemishes....& he removed all the meblems, etc before doing it....looks like the only thing he taped around were the door handles & antenna...he even took the cowl off & painted the grilles underneath the original black (which had faded a bit)....real attention to detail by him.....I'm pleased.....&, man, I love that car!

Awesome, looking forward to see some pics!

Reasonable cost? I'd love to get the alfa re-cleared (or maybe just repainted) one day in the not too distant future. The clearcoat on it is coming off in sheets the size of my hand right now.

I think he's reasonable - we'll talk when I come through...gonna find out about a paint job cost when he does Jerri's Bug.

Weee, Tony. Will he do the little body work I need and finish it off? What a deal that would be to have the body finished. Lets see what he says when he does the prime etc.
