Painter X Brace

I have read the X brace in front of the radiator was hand painted black at the factory so it would not show through the grille. Does anyone know if just the flat front surface of the brace was painted black or did they paint the back side also?

My '61 German export BT7 Tri-carb was painted on both sides.

Yes as stated, semi gloss black, dont have to be perfect, going ''outside the lines'' so to say is accurate.

That applies to the six cylinder cars. The 100 had the twin X braces painted body color.
