Painted engine mount buffers

After consulting the Austin Healey Concours Registry Originality manual I see that the motor mounts and buffers were painted along with the engine. Do I just lightly spray paint them because of the enivitable flaking that will occur no matter what or is a heavier coat better? The manual does say flaking is acceptable! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Well David, it seem like if they say flaking is ok then paint em and let em flake.---Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Next weekend I should have an assembled and fully painted engine to put on display in the garage! I can't wait to share photos. I may even sit down one afternoon and gaze at it for a while and drink a cold one.

By the way David, are you talking about the entire Motor Mount assembly or just the Upper Rubber Buffers??. Cuz if you got new Buffers from your favorite source they ain't gonna fit right either. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif Keoke- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
