It only took me 15 years to get here. I still can't believe I did it all myself.

Thanks guys, I couldn't be happier. Rick, do you by any chance know Bob Bender from Dalton Mass? He used to be president of the NE Region Healey club of america if I remember correctly. If you do, drop him a line if you can and let him know that this is his car I bought in 1998. I'm sure he would love to see what it has become.

Chris,

I know Bob very well. I'll be happy to let him know.

That looks great! Now comes the fun part; everything you do from now on makes things look better.

Beautiful Chris - you should be extremely proud of the job you have done ! Make sure to post more pics as it gets finished.
Regards,
Mike

Chris, Your car looks beautiful. Would you mind sharing the paint products you used and the paint codes for both the blue and white?

Hi Rob,

I sprayed the car myself and used the DuPont Chroma system. These are the products I used in the order I used them:
226S Aluminum Prep
2540S Epoxy DTM (direct to metal)
7704S ChromaSurfacer
7740S ChromaSeal
ChromaBase Ice Blue Metallic and Old English White from R&R Paint (Dick Maine)
7779S ChromaClear

I probably have $1000 in paint and sundries, but I did paint it myself since I was lucky to find someone to let me rent their booth for the weekend.

Chris

Looks good Chris, and you're at least five (>5) years ahead of the schedule to restore my car (and I couldn't come to grips with the finish bodywork or painting).

Looks beautiful, Chris. Can never go wrong with Healey Blue :encouragement: I like to refer to this part of the restoration as when the unbolting stops and the bolting begins.

Indeed, changing the direction on the ratchets is always a big day for me, though it does happen more often with more, but smaller jobs!
