TR2/3/3A Paint type on early TR2?

Does anyone know what type paint was used on the early TR2 short Doors?
Enamel, lacquer, or ........?
 
Pretty sure it was synthetic enamel, as I don't ever recall reading about factory workers rubbing out the finish during production. Plus, enamel was the normal paint of the time.
 
It could have been either one. I removed lacquer apple green paint that was stock from 1958 tr3 so I assume the tr2 could have had lacquer also.
 
As a kid I recall matching Signal Red paint on the TR2 with an auto lacquer of the day, when the apron was resprayed for stone chips. Dockers, the original paint supplier is long gone, but TCP Global is a useful archive for paints for old cars.

Viv, PCV Global doesn't seem to go back to '54 for Triumph.

So the gist is it could have been either? I was leaning toward enamel.
