I am in great need of some color pictures of a well painted XK150 fire wall (with the engine removed). Something that would show the colors of the heater , fuse box etc. on the firewall of a XK150. Any recommendations of paint types would be helpful too. This will be a rattle can project for me.
 
Hi I've just finished a restoration of a XK 150 dhc,you will find good fotos on Jag Lovers forum under foto album in the xk section rub the parts down well and finish with 400 wet and dry,use a good primer and rub down with 600 wet and dry,don't rush the spraying ,build up fine coats not one or two heavy coats ,best is practice on some scrap sheet first until you get the eye for distance and speed of spraying I used a good engine paint and for the aluminium either just polish and clear laquer or use wheel silver, don't use aluminium paint only as it has very little laquer in it and tends to rub off and discolour. Most parts are either black or silver-good luck

I got several pictures of 140 firewalls and some of the 150 firewalls (150's seem a little harder to find). I never found a picture of a "finished" firewall without the engine in place; it probably makes a pretty dull picture unless you are looking for the details. I seem to remember a red strip of color around the cluth and brake pedels on the engine side of the firewall but i did not see any details of the lower part of the firewall.
