So now the gas tank get blasted inside and out and painted, the rust came out quite well with the sand blaster and then vacuum out the sand

Looks good. I'll send mine to you when it's time.

done and sealed on the inside, The float on the sending unit was half full of gas so I poked a hole in it, drained the gas, heated up a flat bladed screwdriver and melted the hole shut. hopefully that will help or maybe buy a new sending unit too

Draining and plugging the float as you did will work fine in most instances. If it doesn't you can use the brass Ford float for a replacement.
(Hyperlink may not work. Cut & paste if it doesn't')

The Ford floats are available from several sources. I paid about $10 for mine (including shipping) through eBay.

How difficult was it to sandblast the inside of the tank? Did you use the filler opening or did you remove part of the tank's sheetmetal to gain additional access? Did you use any etching acid beside sandblasing to insure entire tank had a surface for the sealer to grab?

The tank appears to be exellent which appears consistent with all your other work!!!!!

I just stuck the sand blaster nozzel and hose inside the tank thru the sending unit opening and kept moving it around, twisting moving, tilting, well you get the pic. I would blast till I ran out of sand, 50 pound bag, vacuum the tank out and do it again, I did that 3 times. From what I could see it got all the rust which was mainly surface rust, no holes. And then sealed with the POR 15 tank sealer, I didnt etch it either.

I don't think that you would have needed to etch it after all of that blasting as long as you hit all of the smooth and shiny areas of the tank. The blasting will give it a surface to grip.

Great job by the way!!
