Pain in the REAR END!

Actually, I am investigating the possibility of
having a boat trailer hitch welded to the front
frame of Crypty, just below the front bumper.

When Crypty breaks down, I call Wendy who drives
over in the Grey Ghost. I jack Crypty up onto the ball
hitch, turn on the 4-ways and haul the car back to
the crypt for jacks and repairs. My only concern is
the tongue weight on my hitch.

Ok im back on the road again! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

After replacing the Differential and drivers side axel assemble.

I took it for a ride the other day & everything seemed fine till I hit the brakes! (shimmmmmy) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Seems I lost one of the shims for the rear brakes. I got the new shims installed yesterday! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif

So I'm Back BABY! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I drove it to work today, All system ok so far! (Knock Wood)

OK here we go again !! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nopity.gif

only got bout 200 miles on the drivers side yoke before it failed.

I'm in the process of removing the axel assembly again to replace the U-joint. Seems the rod bearings were defective, now I have lots of play in there.

(Can you say CLUNK!!!!) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif

I should have it all back together by the weekend... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

See what you get for posting all of those smart a--ed pictures of Pedro???

Maybe if you and Dale would let that poor, hard working restoration expert alone, he would stop putting voodoo curse on your cars.

By the way, isn't Dale complaining about a noise in his rear end also?

That may be a bit more then mere coincendence, you know.

Hmmmm.....

ok It's out

now turn around and put it back in again (for the 2nd time)

(no 3 times a charm!!) /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

You need Dale's advice for color options before that goes back together.

Thought you didn't believe in voodoo! "Turn around and put it back in... 3 times a charm"? Sounds like gris-gris to me! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

naaa.........no voodoo!

It's a British Car, It's bound to happen.
If it wasnt that, It would be something else....

Quote:]naaa.........no voodoo! [/QUOTE]

Maybe not, as long as you lay off ole' Pedro.....

Sure, sure, tough guy with the PhotoShop earlier this week and a little voodoo has you in the "I've no problem with Pedro mood now".

I think ole' Peddy may have a little voodoo doll with your name on it. You don't have a sore back by any chance, do you? Any sudden sharp pains lately?

ok Can anyone tell me the length, thread pitch and thread size of the stud holding the flange to the brake plate?

or where I could get these six studs?
/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nopity.gif

TRS-038.gif

Do you mean the six (6) studs (shown without nuts in your picture above) from the trailing arm to the backing plate? I think that it's 5/16's X24, same as the top three center studs on the intake manifold. The studs are exactly the same.

I just bought them from TRF for my chassis overhaul and noticed they were the same part #as what I ordered for the head swap.

Ok it's back together /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif
I noticed that one of the studs was kinda sloppy.
I removed the stud. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif
I have a helicoiled kit on order,
should show Friday AM.

I should be driving weather permitting Friday PM.
