Owners handbook, other manuals, bullet connectors

Greetings all.

Can any of you fine members please tell me if the “71-74 Mk4 Spitfire Owners Handbook by Triumph” covers the 74 1500? I’m looking for reference material, as the only thing I have so far is the Haynes Manual. Which books would you recommend for a restoration, and where can I find them?

Also, where can I buy bullet connectors? The ones at the local NAPA don’t fit.

Moss has them but they seem to be 'one size fits some'. I had to drill out the hole to accomodate the larger gauges (not a big deal).

The books you've so kindly linked to bring up the question, does the 71 - 74 cover the 1500 engine, or do I have to buy both to get the 74 model year car info, and the 1500 engine info? AFAIK only the 73 and 74 "federal" models had the 1500.

US 1973 & 74 cars (FM commission numbers) received the 1500cc engine (to try to counteract the strangulating emissions regs in the US) while the rest of the world stayed Mk4's with 1296cc engine. These cars were essentially MkIV's with 1500 badges and engine.
In Nov. 74 all Spitfires received the 1500cc engine and were officially called "Spitfire 1500".

Can't help you with the Spit info, only thing I know about them is from when I helped campaign an SCCA MK III back in the late 70's. I know that was orig a 1300 "F" production. Here's a link to a photo if your interested. No that's not me in the photo! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
