I am getting ready to take my block and head (TR4A) to the machinist as soon as things settle down with Covid 19. So I have a question that I will ask the machine shop but I thought I would ask people who know the engine. One of the things that is going to be done is convert the valves for unleaded use. I was noticing that you can buy oversize valves. For standard engines is there any reason I would want to get these since I have to buy new anyways?
 
Just my opinion but unless you are building a hot engine with a cam, larger bore, milled head, lightened flywheel etc it's a waste of money. Again in my opinion.
 
Tybalt - That info you linked to clearly gave me my answer. It is the answer I expected but wanted to see if I was unaware of potential benefits. Actually indicated it could hurt the engine as the inlet valves are already slightly too large. Thanks for your answers. Bruce
