My '59 basket case 100/6 needs a part for the O.D. The throttle switch link is missing. Listed as NA by Moss , it is item #83 on page 41. Does anyone know of a source for this part? Lacking that, can someone give me the measurements for the link so I can attempt to make one up? Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
On my BN2 the rod is 1/8" diameter by 9 1/2" long with 1/4" long right angle bend on each end. The ends are drilled for small cotter pins. The length doesn't need to be very exact since there is considerable adjustment room on the switch lever clamp.

Dave, sounds too long for my 100/6. I'm waiting for the restoration manuals to show up and thought i'd get a head start. Actually don't know where the bottom of the rod attaches to. Compared to my old MGB this throttle linkage looks like it wsa designed by Rube Goldberg. Many to many little pivots and levers. Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
I agree on the design. See the following reference:
https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=28873
The OD switch operate rod goes between the OD switch arm & a small tab, part 86, mounted under the swivel peg # 56. The six cylinder appears to have a jog in the rod.

Actually, you could bypass this switch. It's only purpose is to prevent OD down shift when the throttle is completely closed. Just keep a little throttle on when shifting from OD to direct.

Hi Dave, I believe the rod connects to item #86 which is attached to item #38 using the balljoint fitting #51---Keoke
