Outlaw Frt Brake Calipers

Has anyone replaced the stock brake calipers with Outlaw calipers. Could you advise of product code and any related problems. Currently mine are weeping, need replacement and would consider upgrading to newer technology. Thanks Bob

Not much point spending the money on the Outlaw product when the stock calipers are prefectly adequate.

If you want eye candy, I guess I can see it, but if you want to stop any better that isn't the way to do it. The stock calipers (in good working condition, obviously) are more than capable of locking the wheels. To stop any faster you need to address the interface betweeb road and tire - in other words save the money on fancy calipers and spend it on better more modern tires.

PERFECT response, IMO, Bill!! A bigger CONTACT PATCH is the real improvement.

Thanks guys, you have confirmed my quick research. OEM calipers have 54mm pistons whereas aftermarket units only go to 48mm so for a given brake pedal pressure less related braking effectiveness. My calipers are weeping and in need of a rebuild/replace so I guess I now know which direction I'm going. Thanks again Bob

Just fit SS cups on your factory units and fit new seals. Tyres will also help you with grip. +1.
Cheers,
D.

Bob, they are an easy rebuild - do split the calipers though - makes it much easier. if you want to PM me your email, I can send you the Grassroots Motorsports article on brake caliper rebuilding - the article is about their Midget but the used MGB calipers.
