A little help here please. ::feedback:

I can get around most things on my Healey but I have never detached the outer steering column from the steering box.

I have found that the joint is leaking my rather expensive Penrite oil. :grumpy:
Is the joint a press on fit or does it screw up?

I believe it's an interference fit--i.e. not exactly pressed-in, but not a loose fit, either--and it's sealed with solder (kind of like copper plumbing). Not certain about this, but that's what I thought last time I worked on one.

This is what I recall as well.

Sounds like a job for JB weld.

Thats what I was thinking too , make sure its all super clean no paint no grease no oil . Clean with brake cleaner and apply sparingly force it into the seam probably wont notice it once its painted .

Thanks all

I may have to pull it and do the job properly in time, as there will be too much grease/oil around to do a good job with JB Weld or similar, though I will try it in the interim.

Thanks again
