The TVR Car Club North America will be hosting its annual event, "Out of the Woodwork 2005" the weekend of October 7-9, 2005 in New Jersey. This will be the 25th anniversary celebration of the very first "Out of the Woodwork" event which brought together TVRs and other sports cars at Forest Lodge in New Jersey. The event was later moved to Round Valley Recreation Area near Clinton New Jersey and that is where the popular vote car show will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2005.
This is the single largest gathering of TVRs in North America and draws cars from all across the United States and Canada, giving participants and spectators a chance to view the myriad of TVR models ranging from the mid '50s through the mid 90's.
Owners of other marques are also invited to bring their cars and join in this celebration.
For more information on this event, go to www.tvrccna.org and click on "Woodwork 2005". Come out and join us!

Since the event is only 3 weeks away, better bring it back to the top. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Martin Lilley (former owner of the company and designer of the M Series) is the special guest this year. Register now if you want to go to the banquet Saturday night, the deadline is September 25 and there are NO tickets at the door.

I don't have a TVR but plan to take one of my cars on Sunday.

Anyone else going to be there?

Bruce

Drat! My wife is working that weekend otherwise I would be going, Clintons less than 30 minutes from me as the TR6 flies.

If I can convince her to call in sick one of the days that weekend I will be there.

It is also about 30 minutes from where I'll be. Just hope it does not rain.

Bruce

Don't let the weather stop you, Bruce. Come on out rain or shine and enjoy it with the rest of us. At the last glance of the 10-day forecast for New Jersey, it's looking more promising all the time. I have an 8 hour drive to get there and we have people coming a lot further than that so come on out and enjoy yourself.

Is there a better (closer) address than Clinton for a Mapquest search for this thing?

Round Valley isn't in there, and my knowledge of NJ stops at the GW. I'd like to bring a car that doesn't have a nav system built in if at all possible...

Round Valley Recreation Area is located west of Rte.287 and north of Rte. 202, and is just south of where Rte. 78 and Rte. 22 intersect. From the west, follow I-78 from Easton, PA to Exit 18. Then follow US Route 22 east to the Round Valley Access Road and follow the signs to the park.

From the hotel, follow I-287 North to I-78 West to Exit 20. Off the exit ramp, follow Route 639 South to US Route 22 West. Then follow US Route 22 west to the Round Valley Recreation Area Exit. Then follow the signs to the show site. The show is held at the "Beach Parking" area. The car show registration desk will be at the entrance to the show area and parking lot. Plenty of spectator parking is available in parking areas adjacent to the show field. All car show entrants will be parked on blacktop in a very picturesque setting with changing leaves, rolling hills, and a lakeside view.

Thx, but I saw that. It assumes one can get to 78W and I probably can't. I'm not the most able with directions to places I never went to before (I once got lost on a straight road with no turns).

I need the nav system in the other car or turn by turn from my door by mapquest or google maps. Without one of those I'm useless.

I guess I *could* break out the atlas, but that's only there as a last resort. I was hoping ctrl-p would do the trick...

Oh man.....what a rotten, rainy day!
I didn't make it over....even the Miata top was leaking in rain!
Hope you guys that went had a good time "bench racing" or hanging out in the hotel.

I went Sun pm. Some nice cars there - I was drooling over the Griffith as I didn't think any made it here, but it seemed like a lot were from Canada. Is that normal for a TVR meet here?

We have a very vocal member from Canada who made an arrangement with Marshall (mrtvr) that he could get 20 canadian TVRs if Marshall could get 100 total TVRs. With the rain the numbers didn't quite work (15 and 75 I think) but it was still very impressive considering there's only about 25 canadian members IIRC.

As for the types of cars, Gerry Sagerman (TVR Cars of America) imported to the US from 1963-79, Peter Bircumshaw (TVR North America, Inc.) for 1983, and David Beesley (TVR of America) for 1984-87. John Wadman (TVR North America) imported to Toronto from 1971-94. Because of this a lot of the newer cars are Canadian, even ones with US plates that were imported from Canada.

I took my Mini there on Sunday. Cold day but no rain. TVR people said it was the most Griffiths ever - if I heard him right.

Never saw some many TVR's and now I want one (again).

Bruce

Yes I was and no one said Hi to me! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

What car did you have there?
