and noticed it was not running like it should. I have been driving very cautiously because of the shake between 35 and 50 MPH. So I have an appointment at the suspension shop (the owner is a HUGE STUDEBAKER collector)so I figured I better go get some petrol and and the car was totally dogging it. It sounded like it was gasping for air. I got home and checked the timing, the carb mixture.
So I pulled all the plugs and the #8 plug was kind of nasty. Just then a friend stopped over and it seems #8 wasn't firing at all. After playing around for awhile we pulled the TR8 bible (service manual) out as we chatted and I was telling him how I never do anything with out consulting the book. So as we played around in to the evening twlight he suggested that when I put new plug wires in I screwed it up.
Here is a test, does anyone see anything on this page that may of caused me to screw up the firing order (THIS IS AN ACTUAL SERVICE MANUAL)
We fixed the firing order and it is running great now.
A few pic of the 8 out in public today
As I was there I had a guy driving a 1972 Nova SS (396) and a corvette guy stop over to check the 8 out. Even not running correctly they were loving it.
