We had a real smart dog. When we were house training him he would pour over the NY Times every day.
 
Sorry for the diagnosis but happy you can control it. I believe sometimes we love our pets so much that we would do anything for them. I knew a lady that threw her boyfriend to the curb because he made lousy comments about her cat and kept telling her she should get rid if the lousy %%&^%. She said she would and advised him to leave. Best thing she ever did. Is now married to a really sweet guy that treats her and the cat like royalty.
