Those suckas can JUMP, BTW... 6 feet is NO challenge for 'em.

IMO they're best if dessicated, straight-pinned to a card in a drawer in some naturalist's "library".

Lucky it's a bigun you can SEE! Watch out for those Brown Recluse ones! Reports of an increase in Recluse bites is quite alarming!
 
Spiders get a free pass with me, along with bats. Snakes on the other hand, all must die!

Yep - I'll trade you the equivalent ~volume~ of these little beasties who've staked a permanent claim in my attic and walls! VERY hard to get rid of...
 
Cute isn't the first word that comes to mind.
If my wife saw that thing on our front door, she'd want to move.

He's still out on our front porch area. We're leaving him alone. They are not aggressive towards people, contrary to Hollywood myth. If you leave them alone they won't bother you.
 
I like bats and lizards.

Spiders totally creep me out.....

I remember those giant, radioactive
spiders that tore up the western cities
during the 1950's nuclear testing in the
desert.

Even bombs and military aircraft could
not kill them. I still have nightmares!!

Sticky traps are the best. Brown Recluses feed on each other. Once one is trapped, the rest join the party. BTW, it's the only spider that I kill. The rest are fine by me.

Also, I got bit last year on my calf by a Brown Recluse. Very painful for three days, then a very ugly, itchy scar for three months. ugh...

Tarantulas make nice pets, had a few as a kid growing up in San Diego. Horned lizards were also a favorite...
 
:banana: He/she looks happy on your front porch. Doubt you should relocate that arachnid! Pretty much what I'm saying is "Don't relocate him/her to my neck of the woods. :thankyousign:
 
When I was younger we had one live in my moms garden for a really long time. Kept the insect population down pretty well.

That happened with a woman too, as I remember...no never mind, she had an alien encounter!
 
What's tha' quote about kittens??? That thing is gonna be HUGE... and potentially quite dangerous. At least if Merlyn gets stroppy I can hose 'im down and he slinks off to cogitate his transgression. That beast'll just break yer ribs.
