Our long national nightmare is over....

....as of Monday I'll be employed again. Okay, so I was exaggerating a little.

More importantly, I would like to say thank you to everyone here. You may remember a couple of somewhat whiny (well, I felt like I was whining a little) threads I started about my losing my job. Really, I was just venting a bit. I felt low, and felt like dumping on someone, and did. and everyone here could've just said "Suck it up and go get a job and quit complaining". But nobody did, and instead offered words of encouragement and advice and was positive when I was rather less than. And that, I think, is the true measure of the people who inhabit this forum. For that, I thank you all.

Keep the shiny side up.

We've been there too, William. Glad you're headed back to work.

 Congrats

We're not just a bunch of mooks, Will'm. Some of us have been there. More'n once.

It's more like: "Keep dragin' th' sled."

...commonly called "life".

Or to quote Red Green: "We're all in this together."

Glad ya have a place to "park" now.

I've "been a few miles in those moccasin's", so to speak, so no digs from me.

Glad to hear that things are getting brighter for you.

Red Green fan! I knew I liked ya for a reason!

Congrats. I remember being laid off in '06. Sure it wasn't fun, but I found a job out in OK, and moved out there to make ends meet. Had my house up for sale and everything. Even though everyone says that you're not supposed to go back to work for an old employer, when they called me nine months later to offer me my job back, well I couldn't beat feet back to GA fast enough.

Thats Great News William!

Like some have said we've all been there before. For me the last round of job hunting came a month after the 911 attacks. Didn't get hired on to my current gig until Jan 8th 2002. God I hated it!

Cheers!

Congratulations. Where ya working? Did you end up "going West"?

Thanks, all. No, I didn't go West-several things happened that made it pretty much impossible to move any significant distance right now. I'm in Chicago, although the company has offices all over the place so a move may still be within the cards in a year or so.
