Like alot of other folks I frequent another British car site and have had no problems at either one..until last week. I had posted on there that my A coupe was parked outside my shop(covered) and had decided to drop a battery in and see if it would fire up..about three revolutions and was purring. Drove it a bit and decided to chuck a customer's car out that was finished and put it in the shop and decided whether to keep or get rid of it. No big deal, most replies were keep and drive..all real calm. Then this guy writes I apparently didn't give a crap about it and I should sell it cheap to someone that would?? Okay..everyone is entitled to an opinion but it was his wording that bugged me. I responded as much..no name calling or cursing, just suggested he may think about his responses next time before posting..Boy did that strike a nerve. He wrote cursing me out..really vulgar obscene remarks...on and on. Kinda shocked me. I didn't respond but after a couple of days decided to go back and re-read his remarks. The had been edited by him..but I still have the.m on my Blackberry. Should I forget it or contact the moderator??? I know people get brave on a keyboard but think he should be held accountable.

I'd let it go. If he's dumb enough to respond the way he did, I'll take odds he is clueless if you call him to task. Not worth the effort on your part. JMHO

I'd let the mod know, just so he is aware.
If the guy did it once, he's probably done it before, and will do it again.

I had some issues on another non-auto forum, blocked the moron, he kept PM'ing me.....sent it to the mod, and it stopped.
No idea what he did to get it to stop.

I run into idiots like that, I want to know where they are, and if fairly close, I got put a full mag in the car.
You never know what people who react like that are capable of, whether with mental issues, or substance issues.
 
duh..found it..at first I was kinda confused with the new look here, but I guess cause I'm old and don't like change..but I like it..a big THX to the head cheese..

Don't bother, he doesn't care. I had a new member there try to rip me off and the site owner got onto ME for contacting the guy to give me my money back. When I asked to be "demembered", he REFUSED ! It's all about membership numbers and advertising...

As far as the poster, he's got a chip.

It would seem to be that:

A.) He's jealous
B.) Can't afford to step up to the plate to buy what he wants.

I'd leave it be but like Dad (TOC), I'd want to know proximity to my dwelling. Ya just never know.

You're being baited. Keep in mind what we really "wrestle not against". :wink:
 
Sorry to hear this. It amazes me how some people can get so nasty on the internet. I see people saying things all the time on other sites that you know they would never say to your face. (They wouldn't last 2 minutes here :hammer: ). I honestly don't understand why people can't just be civil to each other. It's ok to have differences, but good grief, what purpose does being nasty serve? Sounds to me like the guy has some of his own issues he dealing with.

By the way, hope you understand why I deleted the reference to the name of the site. Don't think it really matters as that kind of thing, unfortunately, is prevalent all over the internet.

I think sometimes the internet is to people what car windows are to dogs......you can look through it and bark your head off and the moment the window comes down, you curl up in the back seat with your tail between your legs hoping no one notices where all the noise was coming from......

One of the reasons that I left there -
I voiced a few comments towards people who
bugged me,& left after seeing pointless posts
time after time.I finally left,after being taunted
by one of the offenders.
I think that moderators should step in,
when things start to get out-of-hand,not after.

hope that I can be honored by a visit in the future.
I have a "Bucket List" trip around the USA that I hope
to take in the next few years,& you are one of the
people that I would make a point of going WAY out of
my way to meet.
Let it go,& move on.You're too nice of a guy to
deal with wasting you're time on that.
