Now back to our regularly scheduled ranting and ravings re: triple wipers vs dual wipers, clutch bleeding, knuckle bleeding...

(now the BIG checks start rolling in right?)

Congrats Vicky!
Rick could you give a short synopsis of what she did to get the book published. My 12 year old is a writer and I could see her moving in that direction.
Thanks
Paul

Well done indeed.

Cool news.

It wouldn't be "OT" if it were in the Pub...

True enough, I've barely got time to hang out here though - let alone "the pub". :wall:

Yes, something to remind her of as she becomes rich and famous.

Na, no big deal. Rick's one of us. :grouphug: I kinda like the fact it's here. Makes it more personal.

Congrats again bro!

Aint nuthin' like seein' the Mrs. do good huh bro!

A congrat from me as well, Rick. Remember us when its number one on the best sellers list!!

Kurt.

I too have an aspiring writer daughter. Cheers.

Off topic? I doubt it... I'm sure the book mentions a midget.... Right? How else would they meet? He had to see her stopped on the side of the road with a flat on her 1973 mint condition round wheel arch, wire wheel and chrome bumper 1275 cc midget. Black tulip of course.
And being a member of the best midget forum on the web he obviously
Knew how to knock off her hubs..... Giggty.

Thanks a lot guys!
She has submitted to publishers for many years, got a lot of "not what we are looking for at the present time" in the mail.
She kept trying, she kept honing her craft, she sent what she intended to submit to the publisher for this book to an editor and made many changes and then finally sent it off. She had been refused by this publisher for another book she sent them but kept on writing and sending.
This time they asked for a partial (the first few chapters) then they asked for the manuscript. That's when we started wondering if they might like it.
Then they sent the offer of a contract.
We don't expect to make much, but it's very nice for her to succeed. Makes her feel like she's doing it right.
Her writing group is very excited for her, asked her to come to the local establishment and read a chapter up at the Mike last night.
So far she's still exactly the girl I married 25 years ago, so this is all good.
Now don't get me wrong - I wouldn't mind if big fat checks started rolling in. I'm just not expecting any.

Outstanding, super stuff. Guess that makes her a keeper Rick, LOL.

There is a nice story about it and her in today's Sno Valley Star (the local newspaper).
It even mentions this thread!
